- Around sixty, standing or sat around the boards. Nobody is seated in rows.

- Open sky. Bamboo throws shade on one side late in the day.

Jillat
A museum left empty for ten years, now a house for dance.
Four hundred square metres on a spit of land in the Lule river, just under the Arctic Circle. The name means to glow, in Lule Sámi.

- The ground
- A big studio, custom built with a 6 mm spring effect, under a Harlequin floorwork dance carpet. The amphitheatre has a professional dance floor of its own.
- You can be
- Up to 150 in the amphitheatre. Wheelchair spaces can be arranged for any event, though where they sit depends on the room.
- Light and shade
- The big studio has windows on all sides. Winter here is very cold, with snow, ice and little daylight. □ midnight sun and polar night still to be documented on site, in both.
- What gets in the way
- The amphitheatre opens in the summer season only. The rest of the year, everything happens indoors.
- What is already there
- An amphitheatre with an 8 × 5 m stage cut in an almond shape, a big studio with a fireplace, a music studio, a green room with makeup tables, and a meeting place called Aktitit. The amphitheatre carries a 5.1 system, a laser projector on a 200″ screen and a Dante network.
- Getting in
- Murjeksvägen 31, Vuollerim — 45 km from Jokkmokk. Luleå airport is 135 km away and some flights meet a subsidised airport taxi; the nearest railway is Murjek, and onward transport is arranged in advance. 55 parking places, and about 80 m from them to the door — slippery in places.
- Permission
- Jillat programmes its own residencies and events, and a date is arranged with the centre directly.

- Aira Dance Company AB, Jokkmokk. Projects are developed with Invisible People Contemporary Dance.
